If they keep certain key conveinience design features between the models, then perhaps you have a hole cut in your crossmember that is just big enough to get an open end wrench in there to work the bolts. My car is an 87 325is ( E-30 ) and I've done mine twice... First time was 4 hrs, and then the second was 1.5. The first was longer due to stuck ehaust bolts by the headers. You may want to have these loosened by a mechanic first, to save you some aggrivaton. Also, You might want to have some replacement donut gaskets handy for your exhaust seals in case you trash the old ones, or just because it's a good idea to replace them while you are in there.
