i checked in Haynes manual, the gap should be 0.3mm for hot engine, but guide mentioned it as 0.006" = 0.1524mm. How do you get 0.006" clearance from? I am about to redo mine very soon.

If your engine sounds like a Mercedes Turbo Diesel when it idles after it has been running for a while, and you've checked the oil, your valves may need to be adjusted. The link below will walk you through the process. I was nervous at first, but really it's quite simple and results in restored smoothness and performance. My car has 151,000 miles on it.
