If I understand your problem: you got four to fire by switching the fuel line from where 4 left the dist t, say, where 3 left. So then four fired but the other one, 3 in my example, didn't? And this happened with only one fuel dist, the one you have now, and has been in the car for ten mo's? OR did it happen with the old distributor which is why you changed it out?
IF the problem is with this new (relatively) fuel dist only, it could be that the slit in the plunger leading to 4 is clogged. I have never opened one up, and it is not recommened. So you might be looking at a rebuild if that is the case. IF you are really ambitous, you could practice on your old one, assuming you still have it.
That's all I can think of, but if you could clarify exactly what happened, I could help you diagnose it better.
