If your CD player is draining your battery, there must be a bad connection somewhere. Did you have this problem before you installed the CD player?
Why is you alterntor not recharging your battery?
Is the battery light on your dash on when driving?

I'd advise you to turn of all accessories, check ifalternator is producing 14V when engine is running. Check again battery terminals with each accessory turned on. I really suspect your alernator not doing its job. If it is your steroe connection, u must have a very powerful system to drain the battery faster than the alternator can charge it up. REduce power output.

U defintely have to check that low beam relay. Swap it with the high beam relay and see what happens. I think it is a minor problem. Electrical problem are usually no biggie. Just a PAINNNNNN in tha neck to troubleshoot.

Good luck

i have a 79 320i and earlier i posted a message on this board about my headlights only working if my high beams are on and they told me it was the low beam realy. i havent had a chance to get a low beam realy...actually i cant find one where i live. also when i am driving at night with my high beams on, my fan on, and my cd player on, the temp gage goes way up.....almost to the end, but if i shut off the fan and lights it instantly goes back down to normal, also when i turn on my turn signal, my temp gage does a little dance bouncing back and forth in time to the click of the turn signal. is this happening because my cd player is draining my battery? or what else could it be?

thanks
