i need immediate help please my car wont start (archive)

i have a 79 320i and it did this once before. it started fine when i left my house, then i stoppped and shut my car off and about aminute later i went to start it again but when i turned the key there was absolutely nothing...didnt turn over or even make a sound. and i turned on my hazard light switch and it went wild and made a buzzing sound. somebody told me it might be my starter or solenoid, can somebody please tell me what it is and how i can get it started again
