i just cleaned it off and reconnected it and it was fine

If you go to the drivers side of the car and look straight down past the brake fluid resivior (the clear thing near the firewall) then you'll see the starter, and the solenoid will be right on top of that. Looks like two cylinders, the starter being the larger one and the soleniod being the smaller. bang on that sucka. Sounds like a crap-fix but it works.
