First of all, calm down. This is not a big thing. There is an access panel on the top of you dash. Remove it. You can get to the switch very easily from there. Replace the switch. You can find them just about in any Bimmer Catolog. My local import auto parts store has them on the shelf as this is a vey common problem! I had the same problem with my switch. If you push the switch all the way in so that the hazard lights shut off, your signals wont work. If you let the switch out about a centimeter and wedge a pen cap in between the switch and the dash, that should provide you with a temporary fix. That away your signals will work. Any you can drive the car until you find a replacement switch. HTHBrian N.

jesus christ, this just started when my sister was borrowing my car and when she was pulling up in the driveway, the hazards were on. At first, i thought that she had done something serious, but not the case. I examined closer, and found out that the hazard switch was acting up. the tent-style button wont stay in right, and when i force it in farther, the turn signals dont work, along with countless other things. Jesus christ, help me!! how does one take out the switch? There is no space between the plastic housing around the button and the surrounding console. Please help!!
