As some of you may know, I removed my AC system almost two months ago. Everything with the car has been fine until these last two weeks. In these recent days, the car has been loosing more oil, and a little bit of coolant. I was initially blaming it on a worn engine, and maybe some obscure coolant leak. Also, I have noticed that my oil pressure light stays on for up to 10 seconds after I start the car cold (even when the oil is at the proper level.)Today I warmed it up and finally looked around. How is this an AC problem? Well, when you remove the 5 or more bolts that hold the compressor bracket onto the engine, two bolt go through the water pump, timing cover, and tie into the block. I didn't think about this at the time and just added the bolts to my collection. There is at least one more bolt that goes through the timing cover.
***Be sure to put these bolts back into place!! They will require about 3/8" of space to be made up with washers or something in order for them to seat correctly.
