how do I get to the side seals on a 3.64 LSD??? (archive)

Ive got the rear cover off, but do I have to unbolt the side covers in order to get at the seals? I remember reading or hearing somewhere that all you have to do is undo a circlip on the inside and the output flanges just come out??
