The later 320i did not have one. After reading some posts suggesting addition of the early model's shroud to help cooling efficiency I picked one up for my '82 320i.

What I discovered is that the early model had not only a shroud, but a smaller fan as well. To fit the shroud on a later model you must use the smaller fan. I elected to stay with the larger fan, assuming BMW changed this for a positive reason.

Early fan, shroud and mounting hardware are available for sale.

Did the e21 come w/ a fan shroud ? My 323 doesn't have one, and I don't ever remember seeing any pics of a 323 coming from the factory w/ one.

Anyone have any ideas on how I can install a fan shroud onto the radiator?
