Catalytic Converter for 85 318i???? (archive)

I'm not sure if I'm on the right board or not. The weld on the pipe between my manifold and catalytic converter on my 85 318i has broken. The muffler people say I need a new CC assembly. Does this sound correct? Any ideas how much this might cost. I have a new muffler on the car which I got at Midas so I just need the front section of the exhaust system, I guess.
