Yes, a spark by the plug wire is not a good sign. I've been zapped before and boy does that ever ruin a good day. If the car has a different distributor in it check with whoever timed it and see whether or not they knew that. Not all distributors are alike and the advance curve on your new one could be different from the original requiring a different timing setting. As for the new type spark plug, in a word "gimmick". A standard plug in the range for your model is perfectly fine. Matthew


Thank you I will do so,
they did do a timing set up in a shop,
but have the feeling they messed up,
he has mention at one point he could see a spark
by the wire, and stadet the wires are not that old yet, also has installed new distribioter,
Also was woundering, would this car acept the new
4 prongs bosh plugs? and would that be a good idia to do?
