When installing the shroud, I unscrewed the existing nechanical fan&clutch, unfastened the top radiator hose, and then dropped in the shroud w/ the fan&clutch centered. THen I screwed back on the fan&clutch, and then centered/positioned the shroud , and proceeded to zip tie it into place. I drilled a few holes through the shroud so I could thread the tie wraps through. Re: fan being on inside....I am not sure what you mean here. I already have a pusher/electric fan in front of the A/C condenser that turns on anytime I use the A/C. And between the radiator & engine, I have the mechanical fan & clutch setup as well.
While cruising around town this hot afternoon, I can already tell that this shroud is helping with the A/C's efficiency. I could turn down the thermostat to half way and when it kicked on the compressor, the A/C air bursts out of the vents cooler than I've ever felt it.
