First off, you are extremely lucky to find a running IS for so little money. I think you're looking in the wrong area. Plugs, air filter, etc. shouldn't effect your idle speed. They might effect your rpm's while driving, but not idling. Try adjusting the idle screw, which is under the intake manifold on the engine side. If that doesn't work, try adjusting the rich/lean mixture screw on the fuel distributor. You need a special BMW tool for this last one. If these don't work, the only suggestion I can make is a qualified mechanic. Watch out for shady mechanics, though. Cost is more, but it's probably worth the extra cost to go to a qualified mech by BMW. good luck and good driving
