alternator Q charging... (archive)

I am short a plug for my alternator, its the D+ but theres nothing there, looking in my haynes manual it says it goes to the starter(the plug right on top im assuming?). but then it goes to the battery+ (to charge the battery?).

also my battery doesnt charge when the car is running/revving because of this is my best guess, so my Q is can I just run a wire from D+ to the battery+???
