Hello everybody,

Just bought a 1978 euro 323i this morning and the guy who sold me the car tried to explain me
that he had to change the speedo cable !!!! This causing an inaccuracy of the speed reading....
The speedometer indicates 100 km/h when the car is at approximately 70 km/h (or 150 km/h for
+- 120 km/h). the 323i is a manual 4 gear box but I don't know where the speedo cable is
connecting to ( gear box? diff ?) ??? Is the speedo an electric one ? What is the reason for this
inaccuracy ? Is it possible that the guy bought something for a 4 cylinder version and not for a 6
cylinder ?

Need some help before further investigation !!!

thanks in advance

Jean-Louis

78 323i
92 325i
