I did some archival research - as well as heeding Peter S' advice - and checked the neg. batt ground on the block. I got it off in about 10 minutes, cleaned it - and of course

bolt would not go back in. Must be the threads in the block are messed up. Bolt threads are fine.

After about an hour of cursing, throwing sockets, and tearing my arms off, I gave up. I even tried to get at it from underneath but there is no way.

HOW do you guys put that back? I can barely reach it w/ my long arms. Is there another place I can attach it? I'm really starting to get annoyed - there is very little room to work in the engine bay. The car itself is deceptively simple, but that doesn't matter if I can't work on it without taking 3 unrelated things out first!!!

Thanks,

Dave,
sore, pissed, dirty, strained my back
