yes 36mm, I bought some from my dealer for $6ea. Used oposing tire on the ground, e-brake, locked her in gear and used a 1/2" 36mm impact socket with giant sears craftsman(might pop free return) wrench and about 6+ feet of pipe for leverage to get it off. He,he I love to use locktite, so I also have to use a torch to heat things up first. Try a small butane torch first.

I am doing some work on the rear axle of my 83 320i. It is so damn rusted, i cant get it off w/o a socket. However, i am trying to figure out the size before i buy an expensive socket. it looks like 35 or 36 mm based on a rough measurement. Anyone know the exact size?
