you said 1.8 head, right? Is it a 1.8L motor? Because you're going to run into some problems here if it is, carbwise. The 1.8i head has holes for the injectors built into it, instead of using a fuel rail like the earlier models. Furthermore, if it's a 1.8L motor, you can't use the early 2.0L head on it due to valve/piston clearence issues. If you can find someone who has done it on the 02 board it might be easier. I've honestly never heard of anyone doing it, but I can't imagine the M20 motronic swap being any easier. You just have to worry about fuel delivery, wiring adaptations, and clearance. If you decide not to go that route, you could probably get a pretty penny for that motor and start out with a different setup, I suppose. HTH!
