Hello all,

I am an 02 owner, but this question deals with a 320i motor..

I have a 320i motor and 5 speed trans I planned on putting in my 02.. but now, due to the fuel injection mods I am having second thoughts (chickening out)... the head has been worked and rebuilt, the 320i motor is tight and has a schrick cam and a competition oil pan..

Would there be any benefits to throwing a carb on the 320i motor (or maybe dual sidedrafts) over my old motor in terms of HP?.. Or would it be the same as putting dual carbs on my 02's engine? I know the blocks are virtually the same, but the 1.8 head is different...

Should I just continue my original plan to convert to fuel injection... ? What's the best route? Just don't know what all will be involved....

thanks.

Dude that csi injection will be nothing but problems. All you have to do is plug the injector holes, bolt on an intake and carb and point that puppy.I've done it several times,no big deal.Check around and find some small galley plugs for the injector holes.Or tap them and insert a plug or bolt w silicone.Or just leave the injectors in the holes if worse comes to worse.Converting to fuel injection is not worth the time or expense.Good luck.
