I wouldn't worry if it was a 1.8. The post 79 cars are 205 lbs lighter. Chances are that you will have to do some engine work at some point. At that time, go for the 2l.

MAKE SURE you get the 2.0L! otherwise you can just give it up.

just not worth it to have to have a cat. and a 1.8L engine!
