Don't quote me on this, but I was under the impression that the car had to be running SUPER rich in order for the effect to work, so that there's a lot of unburned fuel in the mixture. This is easily attainable with a high powered (or shitty) american V8, because you can feed those things as much fuel as you want to waste if you compensate with air. With a BMW 4-cylinder, which is both very effictient and finnicky as hell, you wouldn't be able to have it run that rich and still run well. Just a thought. -alan 83 320i 79 320i PS: that movie represents a lot of things wrong with America to me. Not only does it glorify a subculture that I think is STUPID (the import drag race scene) but it also demonstrates very well how much coorpratism has taken control of the movie industry. A month before the movie came out I saw stuff all over EBAY that said "these are the 'racing' pedals featured in the new movie THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS." Perhaps I'm being snobby, but I see better uses to money than silly movies and only driving in a straight line all the time.
