Have you checked to ensure you're getting spark?
How does it run when cold?
Does the engine run excessively hot?
can anyone help me here? I have an '82 320i that is hard to start usually only when it is hot. However, the worst problem is that it won't idle. It dies almosy immediately when I put in the clutch. When I shift gears it hesitates as well probably b/c it is trying to die for a second before the next gear revitalizes it. I replaced the fuel pumps, accumulator, air intake boot and $400 later, I still have the same problem. I would love for some one to give me an itemized list of what to check and where each item is located on the car. Thank you.
