Provided you can flare the cut off ends of the old lines you should be able to graft in some new line in the rusty area's. But be sure there isn't rust hiding somewhere you can see well. I suggest replacing as much as possible.

We're finishing up the '80 323i driveline swap into the '83 320is and some issues have popped up. Some of the steel solid brake lines have rusted through and need replacement. Anyone done this? What have you used for replacement lines? Any chance I can get some of the bundy tubing for German cars at the local NAPA and splice into the good parts of the original lines?
