i can drive my car in the day and evrything is fine, but once i start driving at night and turn my lights on my battery goes dead. what could be draining my battery? perhaps a bad conncetion or could it be my alternator.

On your alternator there is a black peice on the back of it called a voltage regulator and change it. That is your problem.....good luck.
