Well,
I replaced the coil, condensor, plugs and changed the oil. Car cranks but doesn't start. I checked the fuel line at the fuel dist. and I have plenty of pressure. I pulled the fuse for the fuel pump and measured voltage was 12.78 - 13.2 v. I cleaned the main battery ground, grounds near the starter and next to the battery. With the key on, the starter voltage was 12.8 v (main wire to ground). Pulled all the starter wires and cleaned them. Got car to sputter but never really caught on. Does anybody know the voltage to the coil with the key on and while cranking? Voltage #'s at the ignition switch? Also, v - numbers for the main relay (is that the big black one on the side of the fuse box?)? I'm stumped. Ready to give up and tow it to a shop.
Thanks for any ideas or advice.
RandyRANDY, The voltages to coil,pump,switch,and
fuses are all 12VDC. Let me ask you this. Did
you observe fuel spray from an injector as you
held it in your hand? If you did not see a spray,
and you had fuel going to the fuel dist, then
your pump pressure is too low or you injectors
are stopped up. Hope this helps you.
