You could. Both bolt patterns are the same, so you could just bolt the 245 in place of the 242. You will need a shorter driveshaft, though (39mm I think).

Is a 245 tranny merely a 242 tranny with an additional section installed (including internal bits and pieces)? If so, is it possible to take a small six 242 and a four cyl. 245 tranny and combine them to make a small six 245?
