1981 323i Air Cleaner Question (archive)

I have a 1981 323i track car, and I want to get rid of the aircleaner box and go with a cone filter (like a K&N). Does anyone have any clever ideas for making or buyin and adaptor for this (you'll know what I'm talking about if you have done it...). Thanks!
