Hi All,

Bad news, TWM doesn't make a manifold for the "baby six" just the four and the big six....

As far as sources in the states..The only place I have heard of is Korman...And they state that they have a tough time getting them...

I happen to have a set-up from them, not yet installed, but hopefully this winter...I will keep you posted on how it goes...

as far as the fuel pump you might want to consider changing it also...the CIS system runs at a pretty high pressure (60 psi or so) and the Weber set up uses about 6-10 psi ...so unless you have one heck of a pressure regulator your system wont work...

WS thanks for your comments.

1) Yes you have to remove the CIS and replace it with the carbs, but I think you can still use the fuel distributor and the fuel pumps.

2) I have no idea who is TWM what is there number?
Manifolds are rare in this country.
Like I said I think Laserchrom a UK tuner could import them for me.
I have no idea who I could get to fabricate the manifolds, but if someone on the board has them,
they should get the dimensions of them so others could dublicate them.

I have no idea were in Mass to go for a race shop that makes manifolds.

As for the other questions..... I imagine the webers will have a slightly louder intake hiss... it should not effect the exhaust end though...

As for a knifed edged 524td crank, weisco pistons and a 2.8 liter engine?

The crank is used for slightly higher revs and I have heard about 230hp for the 2.8 liter prior to using the webbers.

Question

What are the performance gains of the carbs?
How hard are they tune and are they streetable?

Thanks very much,

Joe

Bosch K-jet runs at about 60psi.

Weber carbs need only 3-5psi (5-10 psi is too much). So you'll need to replace the fuel pump near the tank w/a low pressure one...

Just curious, why not convert the car to 1981' 528i l-jet? You could use the same intake manifolds (albet w/injector mounting modifications). But the rest would work fine.... Cost maybe $2-300 max out of a wrecking yard... Much cheaper than using sidedraft carbs, and more accurate fuel metering.

WH
