but it does come out! I replaced one in my 83' 320i and it was a bitch! If you have taking the little set screw(Which should have had orange paint on it). Disconnect the wires and PULL and I do mean HARD. That was the easy part! Getting the new one back in is tough. What I did is break the little gusset off on the inside of the housing(The one right next to where the switch goes). I did this with a pair of pliers and smooth it out with a small round file. It's a pian in the butt but it worked. HTH
