window/door trim on '95 318ti (archive)

Does anyone know anything about the "tape" trim on the door window frames on a 318ti? I asked the mechanic at my BMW dealer, he says they don't make the tape anymore and it's peeling badly. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks, please e-mail lbuss@ibmcu.com.
