You're on the wrong forum but here goes anyway. Constant light on indicates either low oil level, plugged oil filter, worn engine, bad pressure sender.

i've got an '86 325es 5-speed manual transmision with 56k miles on it that has had a few minor problems but just yesterday while i was at a stop light, the oil pressure warning light came on. As soon as i started to drive the light went off. I pulled over checked the manual and it says if the light comes on briefly while the engine is at idle to ignore it (the light doesn't come on briefly or flicker it stays on for the entire time the car is below 1000 rpms). So i've driven it a bit since then. whenever i hit the accelerator the light goes off...and if i hold the engine above 1000 rpms it never comes on. but should i be doing this? should i take it in to be serviced or can it wait until i take it for scheduled maintainence? any advice would be helpful.
thanks
