I read your post with interest I am going the other way, about to change std 20 spokes for 13inch basket weaves Do you think the 13inch will perform like the 14 inch ? How wide are your 14in rims and do they fit under the wheel arches ok?

Nice one

Just thought I'd waste some time posting pics on this board. Now that I have a complete spare set of 13 x 5.5 Turbines at hand, I decided to try riding around on them in place of the gold mesh setup.

It's setup w/ 185/70/R13 all around. I gotta tell ya, I really - really like the way this setup feels for the street. Smooth riding, quiet, quiet, quiet, and much easier to steer than the 205/60/14's. Burnouts and tire squeals, naturally, can be instantly applied w/ the quickness of the gas pedal. The weight difference between the two wheels & tires is substantial, much lighter weight on the 13".

But one slight drawback is the loss in braking distance due to narrower contact patch area. And the other, of course, is increased slip on more aggressive turns.

But for everyday driving around town where you're constantly being challenged by traffic signals and bumper to bumper congestion, this setup can't be beat.
