In terms of performance, IMO, the 13" will not equal the 14". 14" with a lower profile/aspect ratio will provide better steering response and braking.

In terms of ride quality, IMO, the 13" will surpass the 14". 14" are somewhat harsh when driving around town where rough pavement surfaces and potholes are encountered.
The 13" will ride over those surfaces w/out any need to slow down, most of the time.


How wide are your 14in rims and do they fit under the wheel arches ok?

they're 6" wide all around and they indeed fit under the wheel arches w/out any rubbing.
