Salvage exhaust? (archive)

Someone on the '02 board asked me:

A wrecking yard has a 320 with what looks to be a custom exhaust: 4 into 1 header, small Edelbrock muffler under the passenger compartment, then a split into really cool looking dual exhaust setup behind the rear axel. The whole thing looks untarnished and could be stainless for all I know. Is this fairly common on 320s and is it worth salvaging?

Any thoughts?
