I'm starting the process of doing a 2.0 ltr conversion right now, the main problem you run into is that the wrist pin location is different between the 1.8 and the 2.0 pistons so that they can use the same rods. I'm going to be using early 2002tii pistons, (the type with the bathtub shaped dome, the ones with the "grand piano" domes don't work with the 1.8 head) with the original type 1.8i head along with the 2.0ltr crank and rods. The dome on the tii pistons is smaller than what's on the original 1.8 pistons, but with the added stroke it should bring the compression back to around 8.8-9:1. The reason for using the tii pistons was I didn't want to use flat tops and drop the compression to something lower than stock which is 8.8:1 and I wanted to stick with something close to the shape of the standard 1.8 dome to prevent problems with emmisions compliance.
