If I understand your question you are talking about the "aux air regulator"...it is located under the intake manifold near the starter motor...its function is to increase the cars idle while it is warming up...it allows more air flow past the throttle while at idle...once the car is warm it shuts and the idle returns to its lower setting...


I found a diaphram type valve that works off manifold vaccum and has a pipe into the rubber inlet housing it was blocked off so I unblocked it & now the revs will not drop & hang around 2000 so I blocked it again out of interest any one know what the valves purpose in life is ? The engine runs sweetly with out it.
