Try the "E36" board for more in depth details. Likely suspects are the switch or the wiring thereof. Could also be contacts in the light assemblies too, those often go bad when you have a leaky seal on the light assembly. Also the '94 325is has a chain (2 of them actually) and no belt.

1994 325is. the reverse at times do not work.
is there a switch that could be gone? the bulbs themselves
seem fine. any thoughts?
also, does the 94 325is have a timing chain or belt?
