I picked up a lsd from a 323i last weekend... I am not sure what year it is from. It was supposed to be a 1977 model but I'm not sure. I didn't think the 323i came out in 1977.

For a given year, are the 323i axles and CVs the same as the equivalent year 320i? It is using the M10 bolts with the 8mm hex heads and the 323i axles seems longer than my 1981 320i axles.

The 323i CVs were supposedly overhauled. One side did not have the end cap fitted and they seem to be better than my 320i one which are a bit clackity. Are they interchangable? and how do you test CVs?

I plan to get the shop to swap the 3.45 ratio for a 3.9 ratio.

Cheers

TIA

David
