Its pretty much on the bottom area of the exhaust manifold so you can't see it well without being under the car. But, I found my car runs better with it diconnected altogether. I hear a lot of poeple do this. I'll reconnect mine for smog tests only.

When you say it went out, how do you know? The light comes on at set intervals to tell you to change it as maitenance.

1) the light can be reset by pressing the small reset button located on the black box in the speedometer cable under the brake master cyl.

2) the sensor is screwed into the front of the exhaust maifold lower side(right side of engine compartment, follow the wire that runs along the frame rail). It looks a bit like a spark plug with a small wire coming out of it.

3) it can be changed by unscrewing it with a special socket with a slot in it for the wire, or by using a large open/box end wrench. Pernitaring oil at the threads is helpful in either case

mine just went out. Where is it and how do I replace it?
