In the morning I have to short the hot post on the battery to the start connector on the solonoid to get the car to turn over and start. After that, it's OK all day and just turning the key to the start position works fine. Sometimes it's also OK the next day, but most of the time I have to short the started solonoid...
The battery has 13.8V and the engine spins over like it has a full charge. When it does this, I turn the key and nothing happens. The dash lights don't get dim like a bad battery, and I can hear a click, but nothing else happens.
This is on an 82 320i I just bought. Still got a lot of little bugs to work out but it looks like it's going to be a cool car eventually.
TIA,
Rob
