My E-23 1985 745i heater Fan has a problem. It only blows when set at maximum fan speed. I decided I might try the board before digging in. Anyone know what couses this? I would suspect a resistor or something like that.

From what you list I would suspect the "final stage amps" are not working. When you are in the high blower position you bypass the amp/contollers. Some models had the amp/controllers in the blower fan housing and some had the amp/controllers mounted on a board called the "sword" under the right side of the dash board. The 745 guys on the board can tell you which amp/controller you have in your car. I know my 735i has the amp/controllers mounted in the blower housing.
