Ever hear about the $30 Vega transfer pump kludge? It replaces only the pump itself. Part numbers are: transfer pump (Master E3900), strainer (FS101) and are available from any AutoZone store. I did this on my e28 and would imagine that the e23 transfer pumps are similar. demet
I did the ole long screwdriver to ear test while the car was running...and am about 95% certain its dead...no change in sound at all when power was applied, removed, etc. FYI I got a good feeling now! I bet I figured out this dam starting problem finally. PS should I wait until a new pump is installed before I drive it? ALso is the replacement as straight forward as it appears to be? THanks -Aaron
