I just did what you suggested -- drove it, pinched off cold start line & pulled plugs. The plug tips all looked pretty clean, but the bases looked pretty carbon fouled & slightly wet...a couple were worse than others. My exhaust pipe is also carboned up...these plugs only have a few hundred miles on them too. So i'm kind of leaning towards leaky injectors now...I think ill try to find some low milage ones and plug them in...They all test OK with am ohm meter, and I can hear them all clicking, so would you try to clean them or just replace them??
