Be careful when removing the bolts that hold the pump in place - they can be a pain to get out if you snap one off. If they seem really tight, tap the bolt bosses on the pump to break all the crud free that's holding onto the bolt.
You should remove the radiator when you do the job. It's easy to take out, you have more room to work and you won't damage the radiator by accident.


Can you tell me the steps and what to watch for to remove and install new water pump on 1984 733i
