I don't know much about the E23, but doesn't the AC system use push buttons, that are vaccum controls? I not got to take one apart, but I thoguht I heard its vaccum control. maybe the doors are not opening or something like that. just a thought.

I just bought a 1982 733. My question is= the blower motor for the AC. When it goes through the settings on the volume wheel (clicks) the highest point still only puts out enough air to give CPR to a mosquito. TYou can hear the motor increasing. This is my first '82 733. Is this normal (not much volume coming out at high?)
Thanks,
