Hello,

I have '86 735i with 176000 miles on it. I own this car for half a year. And here is the explanation of the problem I have. When I bought it the car already had this problem ( strong stering wheel vibration when you brake from 50 or high speed - not strong braking like from 50 to 0 but light smooth from 65 to 50 or something like that.) According to the car records the brake rotors were changed 10000 miles ago but I also changed them - I bought the good Brembo rotors and the problem was fixed ( no more vibration ) but after a 1000 miles the vibration returns back. It was light after 1000 miles and becomes stronger at 1300 and exactly the same as it was before rotors changed at 1500!!!! What can be wrong? I am ready to change the rotors again but probably I need something better than Brembo ? I have heard that the rotors from FeBi ( Bilstein ) are very good but I can not find any FeBi distributor or the other store which can order them for me. You can only order Febi shocks, engine or suspension parts but no rotors. Also may be I am not right when I say that my problem is the rotors.

Any suggestion ?

Thank you.

I had a 320 with a very similar problem.
It turned out to be a semi-frozen caliper.
It's worth a look.
