throttle position control (archive)

Help, I need some advice on proper adjustment of the throttle position potentiometer. My vehicle is an 86 L7 with automatic transmission. I'm having a tough time finding the perfect position on this adjustment. If I adjust it one way, the idle is uneven. When I adjust it slightly the other way the shifting between gears gets messed up. Any suggestions?
