Late last night, I was driving on a 2 lane road I drove through a construction zone @65 mph, the road turned to gravel, and back to asphalt. The problem was that there was about (no lie) a 3 to 4 inch step up to the asphalt. I hit hard, and lauched the front end, and it felt like nearly everything under the car got hit. I drove home, and 2 hours later I go to start it up again, it almost stalls, I give it gas, it stalls and the oil light comes on the check panel. I look outside (it's dark) and see a massive puddle of oil. I look again today and can't find where it's coming from, but it's dripping from the sensor assembly at the bottom of the pan. WHAT DO I DO NOW!!!!!!
You probably dislodged or cut the oil pan. Check under the car to find the leak. This happended to my car when I hit a bump, and it was the oil pan. If it is the pan, you will need to either find a shop that can weld aluminum (I did and it fixed the leak perfectly and permanently) or replace it. Depends on the damage. Also check the integrity of the front end. Do not drive the car without making sure that you have at least 4 quarts in there or you will do a rebuild too.
