The 205/60/14 are smaller in diameter than the 205/70/14 oem size. The closest match in a 60 series would be a 240/60/14 but that size is not available. That's why I went with the 225/60/14 size. This size is the same size as the 195/70/14 tire size that's recommended in my owner's manual.

I own a '79 733i as a daily driver, commuting over 100 mi./day on the I-5 up and down big hills here in oregon. I need new tires with excellent wet weather handling, and want to
stay with stock 215/70/14. Having trouble finding ANY tires
with proper H or V speed rating. Please help!

Where are you in Gods own Oregon. I live in Salem. I would recommend 205/60x14 they will clear and improve the traction. Michelin or Goodyear are very good. Tom Ryon 82 633csi
